CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character Name: Silver
Canon Name: Sonic (Comic Books)

Background: The Sonic Universe is a futuristic version of the Earth thousands of years in the future; The world at that point is called Mobius.

In Mobius all the animals are anthropomorphic and are able to speak as humans do. They don't just speak but they have complex societies and form their own Kingdoms. But the Sonic Universe doesn't just contain events that occur on Mobius--no! In fact, Mobius is connected to a plethora of different worlds all of which are unique in their own way. The existence of Mobius is based on a delicate balance between all the worlds, timelines, and zones that are connected to it.

Silver's world happens to be one of those Timelines that is connected to Mobius.

Silver comes from a post-apocalyptic future of the Sonic Universe. Some mysterious accident is said to take place which leaves the world in Ruin, there is nothing but ruined buildings and everything is devoid of life. It's uncertain how the world came to be in the condition that it is in, The only thing that's known for certain is that the end of the world came following the collapse of the last monarchy a few hundred years ago.

The only beings who live in this ruined future besides Silver are two old men: an old immortal named "Mammoth Mogul" and an Echidna named "Edmund" who lives on the remains of a sunken island nearby. Both men lived through the destruction of the world though but they don't remember much about it because of their failing memories. So how the world ended up in ruins is a mystery.

Silver worked with the two other survivors and became an errand boy of sorts. Since he is by far the youngest, He would go and fetch the two old men food or supplies as needed. In return, the two men provided Silver with much-needed companionship, tutoring, and wisdom.

But.. Silver couldn't help but question the state of the world. His Master told him of how the world had become desolate at the hands of the Eggman Empire, but he claimed to have no concrete knowledge of the culprit or exact cause. So Silver decided to do what seemed like the obvious solution: Try to fix whatever had destroyed the world. Pretty obvious, right?

Well...

Silver did a bit of reading in an old broken-down library to try and find out about the history of the world and of anything that could still exist which could fix it. He learned about the past Kingdoms and a vague history of the Mobius, about the freedom fighters, Sonic, Time Stones which could help him go to the past, and most of the events of the past. There was still nothing on how the world fell into ruin, though. After he found some shreds of evidence that could point to one single culprit that had a hand in the world ending he decided to head back in time and attempt to fix the "problem".

Silver ended up in the past a couple times trying to hunt down important figures that he thought would cause the end of the world...with mixed results. Each time he's wound up in the past and found out that he'd made the wrong assumption based on what little evidence he collected. He hasn't changed much about his world yet but that's certainly not stopped him from trying.

Silver still searches every shred of what's left of his world in order to try and find what he must do in order to save it.

Most recently in the canon, he traveled to the past after finding one of the Freedom Fighters' old diaries. After reading the diary and the events that led up to the end of the world he was convinced that he had the right suspect for the traitor within the Freedom Fighters. He traveled back to the past right away but in his excitement forgot to plan a way to get back home. Thus when his target turned out to be in a coma he had no way to return home. So he was stuck in the past without a way to get home.

He joined up with a misfit lot of combatants that seemed to need his help as he continued to look for a way to save the future of the world.

Canon Personality: Silver comes from a post-apocalyptic future. In his future, the only structures that exist are crumbling ruin and the people that live there are few and far between. His personality has been influenced by this perilous environment in order to adapt to it, and certain aspects of his personality are influenced in spite of it.

The lack of people in the future attribute as much to his personality as the environment, though. The absence of interaction with people has given him a certain...lack of social grace. Silver can be perceived as a little weird when interacting with others; He's not used to chit-chat and can come off as really shy or insecure when the topic isn't "business" related, and the fact that he has a habit of talking to himself out loud doesn't help matters either.

He's very naive considering his age and tends to believe what he's told without much evidence to the contrary. After all, in the future, the only people he had contact with were allies he could trust. There wasn't a reason to lie to others when an ally meant a better chance of survival. The survivors in the future had to stick together and there was no reason for him not to trust and rely on them. It's because of this that he can be manipulated without much difficulty as long as he can see a general reason for acting how he does -- especially if he believes it's for the good of many.

Regardless, Silver is a capable combatant and tries his best. Silver has taken it upon himself to try and go back in the past and correct whatever disaster that made the future what it is, and that pegs him for a bit of an idealist as well as an impulsive risk-taker. He'll dart off at the first sight of something that might hint to what caused the future to collapse without a plan or objectivity to his opinion. He's even gone to another time period without a plan for how to get back home so it's pretty safe to say he's not very good at thinking ahead most of the time.

Despite the terrible conditions that Silver has been forced to live in he does not retain a terrible outlook on life; quite the opposite, really: He's optimistic for the future and doesn't feel sorry for himself or his situation. He seeks to use his abilities to make the world better. It is because of his ruined future that he's able to appreciate simple things that most take for granted.

Canon Abilities: Silver is a psychokinetic. He can move objects (or people) around using his gift. It takes a different level of concentration to move people versus inanimate objects. Living things tend to struggle more against his abilities so it's more difficult to move them. Non-living things, however, are much easier to move and at some points, he's moved entire islands without too much issue. It's noted that his abilities are particularly effective on machinery, most likely because they're static and have no will of their own.

He can also conjure his abilities to create shields to protect him from physical harm for brief periods of time. His powers have limitations and he can only hold objects in place for so long or shield himself for so long before tiring out.

Many people confuse his abilities with being psychic. However, His telepathic abilities are weak and limited to being able to mentally communicate through thought and giving other people headaches--both of which typically result in him getting a migraine so he doesn't like doing it.

Silver also has the ability to sort of.. sense when other people are around. It takes some concentration on his part to execute correctly and he isn't able to tell what person it is, but he can tell when others are near.

AU INFORMATION:

Note: This is all based on a... kinda canon AU of the series. It's a game called Sonic: and the Black Knight.

Race: The closest thing to his OU form is the Nu Mou. He would have an unusual white coloring to him whereas the usual design seems to be beige. He would also have striking yellow eyes. His typical Nu Mou attire would be gray robes with a teal and yellow accent, dotted with bits of red.

Job: He aspires to be a Knight like his Father, but his abilities lend him to the job of Paladin.

Nation Affiliation: Liciae.

AU Background: Silver—Or rather as he's known in this world, Galahad—was born to parents which were native to Dalvarus. His Father, who was a skilled swordsman, fled to Liciae when Galahad was just a small child. Though his father managed to make it across the border to Liciae with his son, the fate of Galahad’s mother remains a mystery. It's assumed she remained in Dalvarus.

Unable to return, the two settled in the Kingom of Elysa. Galahad’s father used his skills to become a well-respected Knight and his victories earned them notoriety as well as a decent amount of wealth. Galahad grew up in the shadow of that notoriety; he was always told how talented, strong, and gifted his father was. Of course, everyone expected Galahad to show the same promising skills as his father and continue along the path of being a Knight.

However, Galahad wasn't gifted with brute strength and he didn't have talent physical combat. His talent lay elsewhere.

But the desire to please everyone urged him towards training as a Knight. Galahad trained with a sword as long as he could remember. He could recite technique and combat strategy with ease, but he lacked the physical prowess to properly execute them.

Galahad's true gifts were those he couldn't quite explain or grasp. Since he was small, Galahad had a gift in white magic. He could summon shields, sometimes heal others, but it was all very sporadic and felt beyond his control. Because of his training with a sword, his natural Paladin abilities have long been neglected. This made his skills unreliable and unpredictable - which were considered risky on any combat field. Given the unpredictable nature of his skills, he opted to not mention them to those he meets. Better to be a clumsy oaf than someone with abilities that were a hazard.

Galahad would've been happy (more or less) to stay in Elysa, but after his Father went on a mission and never returned he ventured out into the world to try and find him.

Perhaps he could find a place where his skills can be of use too...

AU Deviation: The largest deviation between the AU and the OU comes with attitude and skill level. Silver in his regular canon is naive and impulsive because he doesn't have anyone to keep his ideas in check. He's left to his own devices and mostly does whatever he wants. Though his wants are always with the best intentions, he doesn't always think through his plans. His skills developed because they were a tool for survival and he had to figure them out or he wasn't going to get too far in life. Silver isn't shy, but he lacks social grace due to his lack of exposure to others.

But Galahad has other people. He has training. He has limitations. He has a family. He's able to adjust to a social setting and try to find a place within it. He's still not the most socially graceful person and can come off as horribly sheltered and shy, but he knows how to have some social tact because he's had exposure to social situations. His abilities aren't extremely necessary for him to survive here, so they're not as developed, but when they do develop they'll be more focused and precise because he has help training them.

Think of Silver as powerful and unpredictable whereas Galahad is more subdued and focused. They're still both dorky and awkward, though.

RP Sample:
A single small figure walked along the hallway of the training hall. He looked hopelessly disheveled, like he’d been in a scuffle and lost: His clothes were wrinkled, there were swaths of dirt on his pants and shirt, and a fresh green bruise poked through the white fur on the side of his face like a stain.

’It was better than yesterday, at least.’ Galahad thought reluctantly as he tugged idly at his gloves.

As he left the noise of the training grounds in favor of the inside of the castle, an unsettling quiet settled over the hall. It made the small Nu Mou stop and take notice of the sudden stillness. Usually, noise would drift in from the outside; the steady clang of swords as they met, the voices trainees calling to other trainees, and the occasional bored whinnies from a horse. But it was as if all sound ceased.

He practically jumped as he heard a strange voice as him a question. ’ What in life will you sacrifice your all to protect, and why?’ It said evenly.

Galahad whirled to try and see where the voice had come from, but all that greeted him was an empty hall and the eerie quiet. “Wh-what?” Was he hearing things? A palm idly traveled up to the bruise that thrummed with pain on the side of his face. Perhaps he’d been hit harder than he had thought. “C-could you repeat the question?” He asked in a small voice.

So they did in the same even voice. Still, there was no one to be seen. Their voice seemed to come from every direction.

“Oh.. I…” He stammered. What a question to be blindsided with! If he was expecting it, perhaps he could give a dignified answer or something more well thought-out. “I would ..Fight to protect the good that is in the world. I want to fight for it because most people don’t see it, or sometimes they forget that it exists.”

The voice gave no acknowledgement, and simply plowed ahead with question after cryptic question. ’What in life will you sacrifice your all to destroy, and why?’

“Destroy?” He blinked “I don’t want to destroy anything. I want to live in a peaceful world without destruction. Everyone deserves happiness, even our enemies.” Which was true. At least, he thought it was true.

Again, another question. ’What is your deepest heart's desire, and why?’

“…” He shook his head. “Please don’t ask any more.”

There was a longer pause this time before the voice moved on. ’What is it you fear the most, and why?’

There was a grimace in response. Perhaps this was in response to the previous question and it not being answered directly.
“I..” He looked into the direction he thought the voice came from, an unsure expression spreading across his face. After some silence he offered, “Being forced to hurt other people. Even if I train to be a Knight, I don’t want to hurt anyone. I want to protect them.”

Silence. Then another question. ’What is most important when making a difficult decision?’

“Considering the options.” He sounded more confident with this one. “Difficult decisions are difficult for a reason, so you should think long and hard about it before you make it. Once you decide then you have to believe in it.”

Yet more questions followed. ’What can you never forgive, and why?’

He gestured with a hand. “I think that everyone’s reasons for what they do start out good, but maybe they end up getting twisted somewhere along the way to their goal.” Galahad nodded. “If you can untangle whatever was lost, then everyone can earn forgiveness eventually.”

A long pause followed. ’What qualities do you seek in comrades, and why?’

He folded his arms and thought for a moment. “Trustworthiness, understanding, and kindness. With those qualities, then you’ll know that they will always be your allies and the allies of those you try to protect.”

’How do you respond to those with whom you disagree?’
He looked down to the tip of his boot. “I usually agree with them. If you agree then you can avoid conflict.” He admitted ruefully. It wasn’t in his nature to disagree all that much. It could lead to him being a doormat at times, but he didn’t seem to mind all that much. “But if I don’t agree, I tell them that I politely don’t agree and explain why.”

’What kind of people you seek to surround yourself with, and why?’

“Those I can call ‘comrade’.” Ultimately, he did look for the same qualities in both.

Again, the voice moved on with another of its questions. ’What is necessary to earn your loyalty?’

“To believe in a cause worth believing in.” Galahad said simply.

A moment later, noise from the outside flooded back into the hall. The clanging of weapons from the outside, the snorts of horses, and the chatter from the training field, all returned in a rush of noise that was so startling it felt as it would knock him right off his feet.

Whatever voice had been there had left just as quickly as it had appeared.
